Overly attached friend.

Instead of being the Overly Attached Girlfriend,

*points below*

OAG - Laina Morris
I believe that i'm an Overly Attached Friend.

I may not display the same characteristics of an OAG, but i'm somewhat there.

For some reason, i become incredibly attached to people even after knowing them for a short amount of time. And sometimes, it's rare for me to find someone i can instantly click with. To find someone i have no qualms with, conversation constantly flowing & even when it's silent, it's the kind of silence that reassuring. It's rare that i find the bond often.

I guess i'll just turn into an overly concerned friend, one who would go out of the way sometimes, one who remembers what you like/dislike. I bet there's a few other qualities but it's refusing to come to my mind right now.

I'm just weird.

And this is a random post to express my thoughts about myself.

A little too much

You know that when the song relates to you, you can truly feel it.

For me it feels like something sharp piercing through your soul yet it's strangely comforting. A little melodramatic i know, but that's what it feels like. Every word sung comes to life and all sorts of feelings resurface. A tinge of happiness mixed with some regrets and hurt, but still surrounded with hope.

Everyone is probably gonna think that it's some lovesick thing, but i assure you not all that.

Sometimes we get on like fire
Sometimes we're stubborn like the rain.
Just when I think it's over, over
You wave a white flag again

Aaa, aaa
We follow thing we fall back in
Aaa, aaa
We're always back where we begin...

Everybody hurts just a little too much
Everybody hurts but it's never enough
It's wonderful to fall
It's worth of risking all
I'd rather love just a little too much...

Wishlist! ;)

There comes a time in every girl's life where they start being a lil' greedy. ;)

With all the technology going cuckoo around me, you can't blame me for wanting something more. I seem to have have 'love-hate' relationship with things around me. Me loving them, while technology hates me. For real.

Things on my wishlist..

1) A new phone

I'm just fed up of the nonsense my blackberry puts me through. It's not even worth the effort complaining about the trouble it's been causing me. I think it reached the point where the phone just belongs in the trash (quotes my brother). I'm having such a hard time thinking of other phones besides Blackberry MAINLY cos of the keypad. I'm not even considering other phones.

But, maybe an Apple product might be in the near future. Only after i've started work i guess.
First month's salary going to this.

2) Semi-pro camera

I love pictures taken with DSLR's. However, buying it never crossed my mind because it's too huge to lug around. I'm the kind of girl who usually dumps everything into my bag until it's filled to the brim. Bringing a DSLR wherever i go would be such hassle.

That is, until semi-pro's came about. Compact DSLR's. What's not to loveeeee? Looking at the pictures my current camera produces, it just looks plain ugly. Hahaha. The lighting & the resolution is horrible! I want to go out, take amazing pictures & blog after that. Which is something i can't really do at the moment?
Second month salary going to this.

3) TRAVEL

I don't need to explain much. I want to go & explore what the world has to offer. I wanna visit famous/historical sites around the world. I want to experience different cultures! And even meet wonderful strangers from around the word while at it. :)

I'm just waiting for the right time (and cash).
Salary for the rest of my life goes to this.

I'm not being a sixteen year old asking for a brand new Macbook, something i won't even use. I'm just someone who wants something out of her life.

reality check.

Confession of a nerdy bookworm!

You wanna know what makes me happy?

THIS.
IS.
PURE.
HAPPINESS.

overload of love. ♥

I'm the kind of girl who loves spending time reading compared to any other thing. Although i don't really have the time at the moment, i still dedicate an hour a day to books.

I love fantasy. I love the world you enter when reading a good novel. I feel for every character; the joy & the pain, all the emotions they go through. I laugh at the embarrassing moments and i cry at each moment of sadness.

"You know you've read a good book when you turned the last page and
it feels a little as you have lost a friend."

Several comics ;) BART SIMPSON FTW!

A random comic my brother wanted to get.

I'm happy to be a nerdy bookworm. ♥

Up, up and away :)

 Vain shot ;)
 Notice any difference?

5 hours at the saloon and people can't notice the difference. :'( My main goal was to go RED before i actually start working. No harm in trying it at least once in a lifetime.

Unfortunately, the colour is only very obvious under the light. It looks red everytime i look into the mirror. But not so much when i take pictures. Or maybe it's just pictures with the Blackberry.

:D
Liquor from Langkawi

Cute little bottles! So tempted to try some. The thing is, i'm only itching to try all these drinks when i've given up all form of drinks except water for Lent. Hahaha. Temptation is all around. And it sure isn't easy trying to avoid it at all cost.

But then again, i must remember the whole reason behind it. Everything will fall into place then.

I've also started watching series again. Currently very much focused on Glee at the moment. Finished 4 episodes in 2 days. Now i'm stuck because Isabelle didn't pass me the later episodes in my hardisk. I'm stuuuuccckkk. There goes my distraction. =/

second best. here we go again.

Be ignorant. Or vigilant. Your pick.

Sometimes with all the news that is going on, it's definitely easier to just take a step back and become selective to the information around you. It's way easier trying to block everything out. Media has been indirectly/directly manipulating us in the wrong ways for a long time. And it's hard to find out the truth anymore. It's ALSO just as hard to avoid reading more about it.

The more i read, the more frustrated i get.

1) Erykah Badu's concert cancelled over an Arabic tattoo

Source: Here & i'm sure you can get plenty of other information googling it.

Just a day before the concert & RAIS decided to cancel her concert here, claiming that her Arabic tattoo of the word Allah was disrespectful. After all these years, haven't we learnt to respect people? Learn to respect culture?

I have my own views, but at least i know to draw the line when it comes to respecting others. No matter how difference.

2) Bumiputra rights for Thai's

Source: The Star

It's amusing how they reward rights to others. Where is the guidelines for 'How to reward bumiputra rights?' I think everyone needs to have a look at it. We need proper validation.

What happened to all the other races? 1Malaysia concept i see.

And then there's Lynas. And a ton of other news.

Just google, check the Star. Read up on all the newspapers around  & you'll get more than enough of information. Too much till it's overloading.

Be ignorant, or pay attention. The choice is yours.

A good start to Lent.

It's that time again,

where i'm too busy to even spend some time to blog about what's happening around me.

Today, we had to give a two minutes speech on our career aspiration. I spent countless nights trying to figure out what my ultimate one would be. In the end, i settled for being a CEO of my very own hotel one day. ;) I managed to talk my way through. All 1 minute and 57 seconds of it!

My classmate spoke about how she wanted to open her own business, especially in terms of making her very own handicrafts. She brought a few to class as a samples.

Soaps, Key holders and pouches.

Being the nosy classmates, a few of us asked to see it. She ended up giving it to all of us for free!
We felt super guilty, knowing that she made this. Purely out of hardwork.

But she was super nice! She insisted that we kept it. What a start to my day! ♥

Both of them (twins), have blog shops. Here & here.

On another note, Lent is already here.

It's time for sacrificing, giving and loving. Remembering the whole reading we're doing this.

Therefore, i'm giving up on all drinks (only allowing myself to drink water), totally avoiding Twitter at all cost, cutting down on time spent on the computer (unless it's college related) and ultimately praying all the time.

I also want to appreciate all the things in my life, taking time to thank the Lord for it along the way. And.. i want to do something nice for someone at least a few times a week. Everything ranging from a smile to helping out.

Blessed Lent to all! ♥

0 points to Society.

So, cruel society strikes again.

Society never fails to build you into a totally insecure human being. It picks you up carefully, chew you into little bits & spit you out. Without remorse.

Every single time, i'll hear that i'm not good enough. I'm not living up to expectations. I'm not thin enough. I'm not smart enough. I'm not this. I'm not that. Even though it's said to me in those exact words, i get the 'hidden' messages.

Society comes in the form of scheming 'friends', old grumpy ladies, the-guy-who-works-on-your-resume & mostly from the most unexpected people.

Why does everyone waste so much time telling people about what they CAN'T do? Instead of focusing on encouraging others.

Truth be told. I've kinda given up on everything. I'm done listening.

It's getting so frustrating. =/

Lights.

Another quote to keep me going. :)

Another whole week of getting stressed up over exams, resumes, job prospects & the future.

Plus, i have an incredibly fickle mind. Thoughts changing from day to day.=/

Just another day. :)

Miss me when i'm gone.

Mood swings. You got that right.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words.

No it isn't about some silly boy. Which always seems to be the first thing that anyone would think of. It isn't.

I've tried so hard to built up this house of cards, only to watch it tumbling right before my eyes.

Is losing a friend painful? Heck yeah. Only when they've been using you all this while. Everything you've done? Not appreciated one bit. The things i would do for a friend. Yet, not much i would get in return. No matter how many times i've gone through it, it doesn't make the next time any easier.

But like the last picture says, all emotional pain lasts for twelve minutes. It's over twelve minutes now, time to move on. :)

One friend less. Doesn't make the world any gloomier. But just a gentle reminder to not dwell in things.

I'm falling to pieces.

There's no limit on how much you can care for someone,
and no limit on how much.

We can tell ourselves plenty of things. We can say we don't care. We can say we'll ignore that. And we can go all out and pretty much convince ourselves that it doesn't matter anymore.

I can tell myself that you are just my past. I can tell myself that nothing matters now. I can tell myself that when things don't go the way it's planned, i'm okay. I can tell myself that the empty conversations shall not hurt me.

I can tell myself that it's over.

But the feeling keeps coming back to haunt me. It's a never ending cycle.

I pray. Honesty i do. Every single day. Give me strength. I can do this :)
